When I came to Jason Kozma for help, I had already been working out very consistently on a daily basis for the past 7 years of my life, and was at somewhat of a plateau with my physique. I wasn’t somebody looking for a personal trainer for motivation to get to the gym or to help me push harder. What I needed was fine tuning to my already rigorous diet and workout regimen. I needed very specific and detailed information, only attainable from someone with the knowledge acquired through many years of personal, hands-on experience down in the trenches. After all, like most other sports, you can’t become an expert by reading a book or getting a certificate; practice makes perfect. The sport of physique competition has many tricks-of-the-trade that you won’t learn from a conventional nutritionist or personal trainer. I had 3 major goals when contacting Jason. I wanted to put on 15 pounds of muscle, compete in another men’s physique competition, and most important of all, rehabilitate my injured shoulder that had severely limited my performance and development for the past 5 years. I can now confidently say that all 3 are part of an accomplished mission. All training sessions were conducted with a high level of attention and personal interest on Jason’s behalf. As for the 15 pounds, the day I met Jason I weighed 176 pounds, now I weight exactly 190. All 14 pounds are muscle, no extra fat. As for the injured shoulder, I had gone through a fair share of downtime and physical therapy; nothing seemed to work and I had somewhat lost hope of a full recovery. What other non-bodybuilder therapists were unable to do was understand the source of the recurring irritation in my shoulder. Aside from assigning rehabilitation exercises, more importantly, Jason quickly noticed a subtle flaw in my bench-pressing technique and corrected it. That was, without a doubt, the factor has single-handedly restored my shoulder to a nearly full recovery after 5 whole years without any significant improvement. At first the price seemed a bit steep. Now, looking back, I feel like there wouldn’t have been much of an alternative to achieve the kinds of improvements I was able to achieve, and I am glad I spent the extra buck for some quality service. Thanks for all the good work, Jason!

Very excited this week – finally hit the 20 lb. mark on Friday night (by Saturday after my workout it was up a pound again though).

Either way – my body is changing, none of my clothes fit and I feel awesome. I’m getting my ass kicked during our sessions, but I LOVE it. I signed up for personal training with Jason when I was starting my first year of law school. I was feeling terrible about my body because I went from being in the best shape of my life after college to gaining a whole bunch of weight while working a stressful summer job for a judge. Jason assigned me to train with Deena. Deena quickly helped me get back on track, and I had lost fifteen pounds training with her. She was always supportive and checking in with me to make sure that I was meeting my goals. She also helped me to get a good portion of the muscle strength that I lost back, which made me look more lean and strong. I immediately had more energy and confidence.


After working with Deena for a little over a year, I switched to training with James to better fit my schedule. I have trained with trainers since I was 15 years old as an athlete and none have been as technically knowledgeable as James. He knows how to push me to my limits, how to recognize my weak points, and how to push me to be better. I have never been as strong or as free of injuries as I am right now. James biggest strength is making the workout enjoyable, even when it is tough and my physical limits are being stretched.

Prior to coming to Jason, I had been trying to lose 10 pounds for the last two and a half years. I travel 75% of the time for work and entertain clients over dinner and drinks for a good portion of that. Although I worked out fairly regularly, I found it hard to commit to a diet and finally gave up, eating when and what I wanted most of the time. When Jason and I met, I wasn’t that hopeful he would be able to craft a diet for me that could work while on the road. However, after committing to his plan, I was able to stay on the diet and exercise routine for almost 2 and-a-half months, losing 13 lbs during that time. I lost two pant sizes and noticed a difference in my overall appearance and energy levels. I was also able to transition into a new, less extreme way of eating that hasn’t caused me to gain the weight back.

I have always wanted to compete in a bikini competition. I made up my mind and went to Jason after checking out his impressive personal trainer website! He built a plan for me around the amount of time I had to train before the competition date! I got a huge list of foods and plenty of exercises to keep me going. I was always sweating and feeling good after my weight training sessions! I started with Jason at 24% body fat and 127lbs. Eight weeks later, I was down to 20% body fat and 125 lbs. By competition day (15 weeks from day 1), I weighed in at 123 and 16% body fat. I lost 8% body fat and tons of inches everywhere, including 3 off each thigh!!
